A queue of primary school children waiting to board the Atlas DigiBus outside their school

The Atlas Foundation · DigiBus

Future skills,  on wheels

DigiBus brings a safe, fully equipped digital classroom directly to children whose access to education and technology is restricted by distance, infrastructure and circumstance.

A child’s opportunity should never be determined by where they are born or the resources available at their school.

The need

Millions of children are growing up without reliable access to technology, quality teaching or the learning environments they need to thrive.

For too many, where they are born still determines the opportunities open to them.

WHAT OUR LOCAL PARTNERS THINK

The challenge is significant

  1. Education opens doors

Quality education is one of the strongest drivers of future opportunity, social mobility and lifelong outcomes.

  2. Digital skills are becoming essential

Digital skills are increasingly critical for education, employment and participation in modern life.

  3. Too many children are being left behind

Communities face distance, infrastructure and limited local provision challenges, and inclusion is not always universal.

  • 272 million

Children and young people estimated to be out of school globally.

  • 1 in 3

Primary schools lack basic services such as electricity, drinking water, sanitation and handwashing facilities.

  • Fewer than half

Of primary schools have access to computers or the internet.
